Creating a wilder Devon one community at a time
Our Wilder Communities programme is all about helping you turn spaces where you live, learn, work or play into spaces that are greener, wilder and richer in nature.
If you want to start a local project that helps nature and involves others in your community, we can help grow your ideas.
What is a wilder community?
A wilder community is a group of people that have come together to take positive action for wildlife where they live, learn, work, or play. You don't have to be an expert - but a shared love of nature and bags of enthusiasm helps! Find out what wilder communities are up to across Devon:
Why start a wilder community?
There are so many reasons why people start a wilder community group, from wanting to attract more wildlife to their patch to wanting to provide food for bees or to create neighbourhood hedgehog highways - anything that helps wildlife and people. Read their stories here:
Already making your community wilder?
Everyday we are inspired by the efforts of communities across Devon doing amazing work to help wildlife in their patch. We believe that this needs to be celebrated so if you are part of one of these amazing communities we invite you to apply for our Wilder Communities Award so that we can share your story, celebrate your actions and help others to do the same.
