Charity has successfully recruited a new CEO!

Nick Bruce-White, currently Operations Director at RSPB (Southern England), will be joining Devon Wildlife Trust as the charity’s new Chief Executive in September.

Nick is based in Exeter and has roots in Wiltshire, where his family’s farm sparked a passion for wildlife and the role farmers can play in nature’s recovery. Nick is a keen marathon runner and, unsurprisingly, loves being outdoors and enjoying nature.

Nick has worked as Operations Director at RSPB (Southern England) for almost four years. Nick says:

“As a partner, I have taken great pleasure in working with DWT over the years and, as a member and resident, have admired the Trust’s work and the benefits it has brought to people in Devon. DWT is quite simply one of the finest conservation organisations in the UK. I shall have lots to learn on joining the team, and not just on all things non-feathered!”

Earlier this year, DWT’s current Chief Executive, Harry Barton, announced that he would be stepping down from his post this summer. Harry took up his leadership role in 2011 and has overseen a remarkably productive period in the charity’s 60-year history.

Harry says:

“I’ve worked with Nick for many years and have been so impressed with his huge commitment to nature’s recovery.  I’m delighted to be handing over to someone as capable as he is”.

Devon Wildlife Trust is pleased to welcome Nick to the team and continue the charity's work to protect and restore Devon’s wildlife and wild places in this new era.
