Staff benefits
DWT is committed to providing the best terms and conditions of employment that it can and arrangements which promote an appropriate work/life balance for its staff. It has adopted some arrangements which can help staff to achieve their preferred balance such as agile working, flexibility in working hours, part time working hours, a time off in lieu system and flexible leave arrangements.
Agile working
Enjoy the flexibility of being able to split your time between working from home and working from a DWT workplace.
Competitive salary
All roles are included within DWT’s pay band structure, with each pay band consisting of five points. You will start on point 1 of the advertised pay band and your salary will rise by one incremental point each year, subject to satisfactory performance. This is in addition to an annual cost of living increase review.
Flexitime
Are you fed up of working to a restrictive working pattern? DWT’s excellent Flexitime system offers staff the flexibility to vary their start/finish times on a daily basis, rather than being restricted to fixed hours.
The parameters of the Flexitime system are Monday-Friday with flexible bands from 07:00-10:00 & 15:00-20:00 and “core hours” from 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-15:00 (a minimum of 30 minutes lunch break). The working hours for full-time staff are 37.5 hours a week.
Authorised Overtime
On occasions where attendance may be required at evening meetings or at weekends, no overtime will be payable, but time off may be taken in lieu under DWT’s Authorised Overtime system
Annual leave
We offer a generous annual leave allowance of 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays, which increases to 28 days after 5 years’ service (pro-rata for part-time staff). Staff are also given additional paid time off between Christmas and New Year, when DWT is closed for the festive break.
Travel
All reasonable travel costs incurred as part of the job will be reimbursed within DWT's approved rates.
Pension
DWT contributes 7% of salary to a personal pension scheme (following a three-month postponement period), with a minimum 3% employee pension contribution.
Cycle to Work scheme
If you’re looking to cycle to work, you can save money on a new bike and/or cycling accessories! If you purchase via the Cycle to Work scheme, you save on tax and also repay directly from your salary each month.
Employee Assistance Programme
Get free help and advice 24/7 for yourself and members of your immediate family via “Health Assured”, our Employee Assistance Programme provider. This includes access to counselling/life support, legal information, bereavement support, medical information and online CBT.
Shopping discounts
Enjoy discounts from your favourite retailers via our online discount hub!
Death in Service benefit
Death in service is a type of life protection benefit provided by employers. It pays out a tax-free lump sum of money to your nominated beneficiary if you die while working for DWT. DWT is offering a death in service benefit of three times salary.
Family friendly leave
DWT offers enhanced paid leave for maternity, paternity and adoption. Staff will receive contractual rather than statutory pay for a proportion of their leave, which equates to 16 weeks of full pay for maternity/adoption leave and 2 weeks’ full pay for paternity leave.
