About the event

Devon's treescapes are stunning and crucial habitats for so much wildlife. But they are under threat from Ash Dieback which is estimated to kill at least 90% of Devon’s ash trees in the coming years. It will affect everyone, but everyone can be part of the solution.

We are working with communities and private landowners to plant copses and hedgerows across Devon to replace some of the habitats which will be lost and we’re looking for volunteers to help.

We will be planting 500 trees on this site! The trees will all be UK grown broadleaf species which are 2-3 years old and so around 20-60cm in height. There will be a demonstration and support throughout so don’t worry if you haven’t planted a tree before.

Boots or wellies are recommended, please bring warm and waterproof layers, a bottle of water, lunch and snacks. Hot drinks will be provided.

Please be aware we may need to postpone this event if the ground is waterlogged or frozen.

Please note, no dogs please except assistance dogs (let us know beforehand if you are bringing your assistance dog). All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

This site is private land, we work with private landowners to enhance Devon's Treescapes and improve connectivity across the landscape.

Saving Devon's Treescapes is led by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum. It's a partnership project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as well as other funders.
