About the event

Our safaris start with an explanatory talk then, as dusk settles, we set off to find bats. We use special detectors to support our group to notice, identify and listen to bats and usually locate several different species. We now know the right spots to stop and watch bats feeding – a must see experience! We stroll through Parke down to the River Bovey and return to car park after dark.

Bovey Bat Group members are all Devon Wildlife Trust volunteers – we are not bat experts but enthusiasts keen to share our knowledge and admiration for these fascinating creatures.
