Booking is essential as numbers will be limited. Arrive from 1pm for a 2pm start. Please note, there are compostable toilets on site. Well behaved dogs, on leads, are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Directions
We strongly recommend using these directions as satellite navigation does not cope well with the last 2 miles.
The woods do not have a postcode, but is located between TQ13 8SQ (Lewdon Farm) & TQ13 8SH (Blackingstone Farm), PLEASE DO NOT TURN AROUND IN OR BLOCK EITHER FARM’S ACCESS.
The wood can be reached from the B3212 between Exeter and Moretonhampstead or the A382 between Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead.
From Exeter, pass through Doccombe and after 0.6 miles there is a small junction, on the left, at the top of a rise. There are 2 small lanes, take the 2nd lane, signed Hennock.
Follow the narrow winding lane for about 1.75 miles. Moor Barton woods is on the left. Look out for the Devon Wildlife Trust flags. There is grass parking inside the gate. Do not park in the lane.
Please DO NOT take the Moor Barton FARM track, just before the woods.
From Moretonhampstead, take the B3212 for 1.5 miles winding up the hill to the top where you’ll see 2 turnings on your right. Take the first one (signed Hennock) follow from above.
From Bovey Tracey, follow the A382 towards Moretonhampstead. After 1.5 miles look out for a telephone box on the right hand side. Turn right at Slade Cross (2 miles from Bovey Tracey). Follow this narrow road up a steep hill and then continue for about 0.5 miles to take a left at the T-junction. After another 1.8 miles, Moor Barton Woods is on your right hand side. Look out for the Devon Wildlife Trust flags.
Please DO NOT take the track for Moor Barton FARM about 100m adjacent to the woods.
Parking is off road inside the gates and down the track.
