Harvest Mouse Survey (Monday 25th November)
Meeth Quarry,
Meeth Quarry, Hatherleigh, EX20 3ERAbout the event
Not only do harvest mice build nests in tussocks of grass, but they have also been known to nest in tree tubes and areas of new tree planting.
This citizen science survey event will take place at Devon Wildlife Trust's Ash Moor reserve (accessed from Meeth Quarry nature reserve) and will be led by Sarah Butcher who runs the Devon Harvest Mouse Project for the Devon Mammal Group. Whether you have surveyed before or not, all are welcome. If this is new to you, you will learn about Harvest Mouse habitat and ecology as well as learning how to survey for them and how to report your findings.
