About the event

Not only do harvest mice build nests in tussocks of grass, but they have also been known to nest in tree tubes and areas of new tree planting.

This citizen science survey event will take place at Devon Wildlife Trust's Ash Moor reserve (accessed from Meeth Quarry nature reserve) and will be led by Sarah Butcher who runs the Devon Harvest Mouse Project for the Devon Mammal Group. Whether you have surveyed before or not, all are welcome. If this is new to you, you will learn about Harvest Mouse habitat and ecology as well as learning how to survey for them and how to report your findings.

You can read more about the Devon Harvest Mouse Project here https://devonharvestmouseproject.edublogs.org/

The Saving Devon's Treescapes project began in 2020 and is led by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum. It's a partnership project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as well as other funders. Read more about the project and find other ways to get involved here.
