About the event
Join bat expert Sarah Butcher for this Devon Wildlife Trust event at the Grand Western Canal Country Park near Whipton, Devon. The park stretches for over 11 miles along the Grand Western Canal between Tiverton and Lowdells near the Somerset border. For this bat walk we have chosen this location near the villages of Whipton and Burlescombe, where we hope to discover several different species during this walk and talk event.
We will then walk to the canal as dusk approaches and see what bats we can identify via their echolocation calls. Although fast, we are also likely to see them whizzing past.
