Step outside and get active in Devon and Somerset’s amazing natural environment!

This May, Devon and Somerset’s Local Nature Partnerships are celebrating the physical and mental health benefits of being active in the beautiful outdoors and encouraging everyone to get involved!

There is a growing body of evidence linking activity in the natural environment with improved health and wellbeing.

What Devon Wildlife Trust is doing

  • Sunday 6 May, 5 - 9.30am, Exeter. Tweets and toast! Up with the lark for International Dawn Chorus Day, listen to what the early birds are tweeting, followed by tea, croissants and possible music back at Cricklepit Mill
     
  • Sunday 6 May, 10.15 - 11.30am, Exmouth. Gardening for wildlife. Visit Exmouth local group's allotment set up as a small garden to demonstrate methods of gardening that are beneficial to wildlife.
     
  • Monday 7 May, 2 - 4pm, Wembury. Beachcombing walk. Join Wembury Marine Centre for a stroll along the beach strandline searching for wildlife wonders washed up by the sea.
     
  • Sunday 27 May, 10.30am - 12pm, Wembury. Rockpool safari. Join Wembury Marine Centre for a tour of some of the best rockpools in Devon.
     
  • Monday 28 May, 11am - 12.30pm, Wembury. Rockpool safari. Join Wembury Marine Centre for a tour of some of the best rockpools in Devon.
