The New Flora of Devon reveals significant changes on the flora of Devon’s landscape. Based on extensive records, co-author Jeremy Ison discusses their importance for future exploration

Devon has a beautiful and varied landscape and it is home to over 2000 species of plants, many special and rare. Since 1984 the county has been resurveyed and the results published in the impressive New Flora of Devon (2016). It is the first complete account since 1939 summarising distribution and status of all flowering plants, conifers and ferns and it shows significant changes.

In this fascinating talk co-author Jeremy Ison discusses the importance of these changes and how they provide a firm basis for further exploration and discovery.
